I am quite excited to type the first words in my travel blog… I have being following travel blogs for years and I am very impressed by the amazing work people invest to share their experience. I have no ambition for my blog… I am basically just using it to keep in touch with my relatives and friends… and to keep track of what I am experiencing.
I am very surprised how easy it was to set everything up. I hope you guys enjoy the basic layout I have chosen!
I had a harder time finding a name for the baby đ I didn’t want to name the blog “my world tour” or “traveling is cool” or “backpacker all around” or something like that… There are thousands of blogs with these names already! I brainstormed for a while trying to find names related to freedom… and thought about the clichĂ© expression “free like a bird” but it was too boring. Some night, I was chating with a friend about how illogical english pronounciation can be, and quoted one of my favorite examples: the words bear, beer, beard and bird. It reminded me of how close the words bird and bear are… At the same time, I was looking at a beautiful present my friend Carlos gave me… a framed picture of a bear with a butterfly on his back, looking like he had wings. And I immediately thought about the name “free like a bear”. Quite a good match I think… since many friends love telling me that I am hairy like one! lol
I also had fun designing a kind of logo. Completely useless but I enjoyed the process. I am not a graphic designer so I did the best I could using the basic software I had, but I think the result is not too bad! đ No worries… I won’t prepare merchandising products for my online store…!
